Turtle Island and their Sacred Gong

A turtle shaped island. The island residents believe that the Turtle God fell into a deep sleep and became the island 🐢

To thank their god for providing them a place to live and for providing them protection in the ocean, they built the Sacred Gong (really huge!!!)

They play the gong during their Turtle God festivity at the beginning of each season. People offer their prayers before the gong before they sail out to sea 🐢
